GAMMA PHI BETA

PEPPERDINE | ZETA THETA

Letter From Our President

Annabel Becker

On behalf of the women of the Zeta Theta Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta,

Hello and welcome to our official website!

My name is Annabel Becker and I am so grateful to serve as President of Gamma Phi Beta for 2024. Gamma Phi Beta, Zeta Theta, was founded at Pepperdine University in 1996 on the basis of our four core values: love, labor, learning, and loyalty. Zeta Theta is now home to a vibrant community of unique and amazing women, whose goal is to continuously inspire the highest type of womanhood at the collegiate level and beyond. The women that I have the privilege of calling my sisters have shown up in my life to be my biggest supporters, study buddies, and lifelong friends. I cannot imagine how different my college experience at Pepperdine would be without having these amazing women by my side.

Here at Zeta Theta, philanthropy and service are key aspects of our sisterhood and our presence in the Pepperdine community. Our philanthropic mission is Building Strong Girls and we achieve this through our partnership with Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is an organization for young girls where they spend part of the school year learning ways to empower themselves and confront obstacles in a healthy way, finished by a celebratory 5k run. We support Girls on the Run through philanthropy events on campus, like Moonball, as well as being involved in the 5k runs at our local charter, GOTR Los Angeles. We are proud to partner with such a great program inspiring young girls to become strong women.

Joining Gamma Phi Beta at Pepperdine University has been a truly gratifying and empowering decision. I’ve gained countless role models, leadership skills and so many unforgettable experiences. Through Gamma Phi Beta's true and constant sisterhood, I was able to find my lifelong friends and family who truly value and prioritize building strong women every day. Zeta Theta is a home away from home and a second family for me and my sisters at Pepperdine.

Each member of Zeta Theta is unapologetically themselves, creating a sisterhood of authentic, strong willed, and like-minded women who constantly strive to build each other up and make each other stronger. Gamma Phi Beta has provided a platform for so many opportunities where I can better myself and inspire young girls to reach their highest potential! Most recently, I was honored to represent Zeta Theta as a delegate at the 81st Convention in June, where we celebrated the 150 years of Gamma Phi Beta. Meeting sisters from different Collegiate and Alumnae Chapters proved to me that my choice in joining Gamma Phi Beta was the right one. I’m grateful every day to be a part of this sisterhood and all that it has given me.

Whether you’re a potential new member, sister, family member or friend, I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about my sisters and see why Zeta Theta is home to us! Please feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have any questions about our amazing sisterhood!

Love in IIKE,

Annabel Becker
